Is there a dress code?
Yes, our students may not wear clothing that presents inappropriate language (as determined by each classroom teacher or administrator), drug or alcohol advertising, or ethnic, racial, or sexist put-downs. Students' clothing must not become a distraction to the educational environment. Clothing that does not cover students' shoulders, midriff and chest; clothing that does not cover their undergarments; and undergarments that are worn as outer garments are all examples of dress that creates a distracting environment.
Students who wear such clothing will be required to change clothes. (The school will provide appropriate clothing.) Shorts or skirts need to be below the length of the finger tips when arms are side. If appropriate clothing is not available at school, the parent will be notified to bring in appropriate clothing or pickup the student. Students may not wear a hat in school. They will not be allowed to wear a jacket during the school day. Students wearing hats or jackets must remove them. If the problem persists, the hat or jacket will be taken.
