Summer Cardinal Strength and Conditioning

  • Students Entering Grades 7-12 (Fall 2019)

    The Cardinal Strength and Conditioning program is centered around building the “Total Athlete.” The program provides instruction of age-appropriate skills through a weight training program and conditioning drills designed to enhance your athletic performance.  Athletes can qualify for “incentives” based on attendance and participation.


    June 5th through August 1st.  The first week will be Wednesday, June 5th through Friday, June 7th. The official starting date may be adjusted due to snow day makeups. Check out our webpage for updated information.  Starting Monday, June 10th the sessions will be Monday-Thursday every week. There will be no lifting the week of June 30th - July 6th due to the the MSHSL no contact period.

    Max out Week

    July 29th - August 1st.  All scores and records will be available for your sport coaches, and you will have the opportunity to qualify for our Cardinal Strength Clubs that will be displayed in the weight room!


    Session times are listed by gender, grade level, and previous sport participation level to encourage team participation and to help with training progression.  If there is a scheduling conflict you can contact Coach Oehlers. We are offering two Open sessions which will be determined by attendance.  If there is not enough interest in the open sessions at the beginning of the summer we will ask those athletes to attend another session.

    • Session 1: 7:00-8:00am Open (grades 7-12)
    • Session 2: 8:00-9:00am Boy's (grades 10-12)
    • Session 3: 9:00-10:00am Girl's (grades 7-12)
    • Session 4: 10:00-11:00am Boy’s (grades 7-9)
    • Session 5: 11:00-12:00pm Open (grades 7-12)

    If you are interested in joining the program fill out the registration form and return it by May 24th with your check or money to: Willmar High School, c/o Ed Oehlers. Middle School athletes can return their form to Dain Kalkbrenner by the deadline.
