School Readiness Preschool
School Readiness preschool is a program for families with children 3 to 5 years old. Parents do not attend class with their child. However, they are required to be involved with the program. Many opportunities are available for families.
Children who are 3 years old by 9/1/2020 will attend class at Jefferson Learning Center. Children who are 4 years old by 9/1/2020 will attend classes at one of the elementary sites based on their home address.
The goal of Kids Together is to provide children with a fun and enriching preschool program that will enable them to enter school with the necessary skills, behavior, family stability and support to progress and flourish. Kids Together curriculum supports a child's individual developmental stage of learning. We integrate opportunity for social, emotional, physical and intellectual development and enhancement with 2-5 half day options per week. Program runs September to May. Information and applications for Kids Together are available in the spring of each year. Scholarships are available for qualifying families.
Minnesota Reading Corps in Preschool
Minnesota Reading Corps Preschool Literacy Tutors work with preschool-aged children in their classrooms to create literacy-rich environments, focusing on the “Big Five” emergent literacy skills. Data is regularly collected for each child in order to tailor literacy interventions for individual children, children in small groups, and for whole classrooms.
Teaching Responsible And Caring Kids (TRACK)TRACK is our local name for the social emotional framework used in all our classrooms. Through implementation of this program we are striving to reduce challenging behavior in children, increase children’s social skills, develop a common social/emotional language between school and home and provide support for families in the social/emotional development of their children.
