Cardinal Choir
The Cardinal Choir is one of Willmar High School’s auditioned choirs representing a music department rich in musical tradition. The Cardinal Choir performs four concerts per year, performs throughout the community and has performed Handel’s “Messiah” with the Willmar Orchestra during the holiday season. A majority of the junior and senior members of the choir are also involved in band and/or orchestra.
The Cardinal Choir travels every other year with the Cardinal Band and Orchestra. These performance tours are a wonderful opportunity for the students to show off their choir, band, and orchestra in other parts of the world. Past tours include: Disneyland performance, Crystal Cathedral in California, Festival at Sea on a Bahamas Cruise, Pearl Harbor performance in Hawaii, Disney World and Festival Cruise to Cozumel, Mexico. In January 2013 the choir will be part of the Concordia College Choir Festival in Moorhead, MN and in March 2013 the WHS Music Department will be traveling to New York and DC.
Choralaires
The Choralaires is the WHS auditioned women's choir. This 45 voice choir is made up of sophmores, juniors, and seniors. They perform at all concerts, festivals and contests. The Choralaires will be performing at the NDSU Women's Choir Festival in January 2013.
Varsity Choir
The Varsity Choir is the middle level ensemble consisting of students 9-12 that are involved in band and/or orchestra. This ensemble also "skinnies" with Spanish 2 for a year long lanuage experience. This choir performs at all concerts and contests.
Concert Choir
The Concert Choir consists of students in the ninth grade. This choir has students that are in band and/or choir and also "skinnies' with Spanish 1 for a year long language experience. This choir performs at all concerts and contests.
Camerata
This is a non-auditioned ensemble open to the men of the choirs. This ensemble performs in all concerts, contest, and throughout the community during the school year. Rehearsals are Thursday mornings 7:00-8:00am.
"2701" Jazz Choir
This auditioned mixed ensemble is open to juniors and seniors. The ensemble performs holiday music throughout the month of December and then transitions to jazz the second half of the year.
This ensemble performs in all concerts, contest, and throughout the community during the school year. Rehearsals are Friday mornings 6:45-8:00am.

Fall Musical
Each fall the WHS produces a musical. This year's production of "Hairspray" will take place November 8 -11. Past shows include, Footloose, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat, Grease, South Pacific, Anything Goes, Les Miserables, Beauty and the Beast, Aida, Wizard of Oz and The Phantom of the Opera.
MMEA All-State
The 2012-2013 All-State students are:
Heather Horning, Janessa Palmer, Elise Haugen, Nathanial Erickson, Josh O'Connell, and Charlie Trochlil.
These students have spent a week at St. John's in August. They now are preparing for their performance in Minneapolis in February. This performance is in conjunction with the MMEA Mid-Winter Clinic.

ACDA 9-10 Honor Choir
Auditions for this choir will take place in late September. It is open to all choir students in 9th and 10th Grade. These students we perform in February during the MMEA Mid Winter Clinic in Minneapolis.
