7th Grade Courage Retreat November 1, 2012

We are excited about a special day at Willmar Middle School. We are hosting a day-long retreat for seventh grade students that will focus on the character trait “Courage”.

Youth Frontiers, Inc. of Minneapolis will present the retreat. This non-profit, nonpartisan organization has been delivering programs that improve school climate and strengthen student character for nearly 20 years. Their vision is to change the way young people treat each other in every hallway, lunch line, and classroom of every school in America by teaching such timeless values of as kindness, courage, and respect.

On the Courage Retreat, the Youth Frontiers staff members will focus on creating a more inclusive school climate by encouraging students to accept people for who they are, resist following the crowd, and act with moral courage despite their fears.

This high-energy retreat is scheduled for the 7th grade class and will be held at the E-Free Church Activity Room on Thursday, November 1st. We encourage parents and guardians to inquire about the retreat experience when your student returns home on November 1st.
If your child requires medication, an inhaler, or other special care during the day, please contact the nurse, Nicole Kowalzyk, at 214-6018 to make arrangements by Friday, October 26th.
