Mrs. Thomas

Hello! My name is Carrie Thomas and I grew up right here in Willmar. This is my 8th year as an EL (English Learner) Teacher at Kennedy. I knew from the age of three that I wanted to grow up to be a teacher, just like my Grandma Ferguson who taught at Lincoln Elementary in Willmar for 35 years.
I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Southwest Minnesota State University. After teaching for several years in the KMS (Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg) district, I went back to school to obtain my ESL (English as a Second Language) licensure from Hamline Univeristy. I am currently working on my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an Emphasis on Elementary Reading through Grand Canyon University.
My husband, Scott and I have three children - Jared (18), Maddy (14) and Blake (11).
I feel blessed to be a part of the Kennedy team as I get to work with very dedicated and caring people who strive to bring out the best in every child!
