My name is Jodi Backes. I was born, raised, and graduated from Willmar. I was also fortunate to be able to begin my teaching career in my hometown.
I attended Willmar Community College and received my Associate’s of Arts degree in 1993. Then I transferred to St. Cloud State University and earned my Bachelor's of Science degree in Elementary Education in 1995. I later received my Master's of Elementary Education from St. Mary’s University.
I have taught for the Willmar Public Schools since 1995. Throughout my teaching career I have taught 1st-4th grades and Elementary Health.
As a teacher, I find my job challenging yet rewarding. What I enjoy the most is the relationships I build with students and parents and the growth I see in each of my students.
