Attendance Area Development Process

• Strive to keep neighborhoods together.

• Balance for (target was 7-10% differences between buildings):
     -Gender
     -Ethnicity
     -English Language Learners
     -Special Needs
     -Socio-Economic Status (Free and Reduced Lunch)

• Open Enrolled Students will be used to balance sections/class sizes.

• Use main roads as boundary lines,
     -1st Street/Highway 71
     -Willmar Avenue
     -SW 16th and 15th Avenues

WPS Teachers at NASA Ames

Four WPS science teachers were
selected for a NASA Simulation-Based
Aerospace Engineering Insternship
.
The goal is for science teachers to inspire
students to investigate STEM careers
(Science Technology Engineering Math).
  
The internship took place at the
NASA Ames research facility near
San Francisco, CA.
