Roosevelt's goals are to improve reading comprehension across the curriculum and to enhance math computation skills. Each year, our students take the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment in reading, math and science. Students also take the AIMSweb Assessments in the areas of math and reading twice a year, to measure their individual progress. Test results help Roosevelt determine each student's strengths and areas for improvements in those subjects.
Roosevelt is strongly committed to integrating technology with learning. Almost all staff have received training on using an iPad in their classrooms and we have 90 iPads available for teachers to use with the students.  All classrooms are outfitted with an interactive “smartboard” which allows for a higher level of student engagement.  All students participate in a technology class as part of their curriculum, and streaming videos are available in all classrooms to enhance instruction. Technology is an integral part of Science instruction. General art, music and physical education classes are also part of the students' curriculum.

Programs & Services

Roosevelt's extra-curricular opportunities include a strong commitment to the arts, with orchestra available to students in the 4th and 5th grade.

Student Opportunities

Through programs such as the Child Guide Program, students can be connected with a variety of community assets, such as academic assistance, school activities, and art and music opportunities throughout the community. These programs help children build relationships, enhance academic skills, and connect students to their learning environment.

After School reading and math Students are encouraged to improve their math and reading skills. In addition to small group instruction, students are encouraged to practice their skills and explore the joy of reading. Roosevelt Math Minds focuses on acquiring math confidence and competence.
