WILLMAR — A new federal law will require adjustments in school lunch programs locally, and Willmar School Board members fear it could lead to more food waste.


USDA Secretary Vilsack's Statement On Human Cases Of Swine Influenzia (H1N1)

Secretary Vilsack from the U.S. Department of Agriculture has issued the following statement:

"I would like to express my deepest sympathies for those who have lost loved ones to the flu as well as those who have been sickened.
 

I also wanted to reassure the public that there is no evidence at this time showing that swine have been infected with this virus.
 


WPS Awarded Breakfast Grant

Three Minnesota Schools Awarded Breakfast Grants Expanding Breakfast Strategies Bring Breakfast Directly to Students

St. Paul, MN – Three schools in Minnesota have been recognized for their innovative school breakfast programs. Expanding Breakfast Awards, totaling $8000 from the Midwest Dairy Council were given to Roosevelt Elementary School, Willmar School District; Discovery Elementary School, Buffalo School District; and Holdingford School, Holdingford Public Schools.


Investigation Update: Outbreak of Salmonella Typhimurium Infections, 2008–2

CDC is collaborating with public health officials in many states and the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to investigate a multistate outbreak of human infections due to Salmonella serotype Typhimurium.
